Welcome to the Parishes of Saint Mark & Saint Rose of Lima

Led by our Shepherd & Pastor Fr. Joseph Rogliano, the parishes of St. Mark and St. Rose of Lima serve the spiritual needs of Roman Catholics from North Buffalo and beyond. Linked since the Fall of 2010, the parishes operate independently, however over time, they are gelling into a North Buffalo Community of Faith. If you are seeking a place to find spiritual fulfillment, we encourage you to visit one of our parishes for a weekend mass. We believe you will find a vibrant community where all are welcome and where you will find yourself quickly at home.

Message from our Pastor

Dear Parishioners,
Weddings, baptisms, graduations, communion and confirmation! All in full bloom! Congratulations to our confirmation class. Our high school juniors from our 2 parishes were confirmed last Thursday by our chief, Bishop Richard Malone at Assumption Parish. May God bless our confirmants as the Holy Spirit continues to lead and guide them.

A reminder to all of our parishioners who are confirmed about the upcoming training session for Eucharistic Ministers. We requested to host a training session in our parishes so that it would be convenient for those interested. It has been scheduled for Saturday, June 10th at St. Mark from 9:30-2:00 p.m. As I announced at last weekend masses, the parishes will cover the cost for each attendee. If you complete the session, you will be able to distribute communion weekday or weekend masses. You would also be able to bring communion to a sick loved one. If interested, please call either rectory by Monday, June 5th.

Plans are underway for June 17th when we welcome Bishop Malone to St. Mark for the re-dedication of the church. Because of the generosity of both our parishes, we are able to enjoy this glorious restoration, as well as the enormous roof project at St. Rose. I do hope that many of you are able to attend the mass and reception on June 17th with Bishop Malone. This past Monday, we had a surprise visit to St. Mark rectory from Bishop Donald Trautman, a native son of St. Mark, and a graduate of the school. I am going to extend an invitation Bishop Trautman, the now-retired Bishop of Erie, P.A. to attend our celebration.

Wishing you all a glorious week, filled with spring warmth and freshness. Sending you my prayers, blessings, and love….
 Fr. Joe

News & Upcoming Events

Shepherd, Bishop J. Malone is coming to St. Mark to celebrate a special mass of re-dedication on Saturday, June 17th, at 4 p.m. There will also be a thank you reception held immediately after mass. Please save the date as our Bishop helps us usher in this new era at St. Mark’s.

Our Mission

The parishes of St. Mark and St. Rose of Lima were linked together in the Fall of 2010, in accordance with the Journey in Faith & Grace. The parishes operate independently. although with a great deal (and increasing instances) of collaboration.

While some day the parish councils may come together to write a joint Mission Statement, it may be difficult to improve on the one that we can find in Matthew:

Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world. Mt. 28: 19-20.
